La investigaci\u00f3n le lleva al Singapur de 1941, donde el sue\u00f1o de dos j\u00f3venes violinistas, Kai y Fei, se ve truncado por la invasi\u00f3n japonesa de Malasia durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Kai se une a la Resistencia y promete a Fei que regresar\u00e1, pero desaparece sin dejar rastro.
